This hike is suitable for anyone in good physical condition, regardless of age, and offers an unforgettable journey into the ancient rural soul of the Amalfi Coast.
From Bomerano to Nocelle: The Classic Route
Your day begins with a licensed tour driver who will meet you at your chosen departure point. You will then travel comfortably across the Lattari Mountains to reach the trailhead.
The hike starts in Bomerano, one of the highest villages along the coast. From here, you will follow approximately 5 miles (about 3.5 hours) of trail to the charming village of Nocelle, perched above Positano.
The trail is well marked and easy to follow. We recommend walking east to west, as this direction is slightly downhill and more comfortable. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the coastline and the deep blue sea.
Local Flavors and Coastal Views
At the end of the hike, your driver will be waiting to take you to a traditional local trattoria. Here, you can relax and enjoy authentic flavors of the Amalfi Coast, including organic vegetables, homemade gnocchi, fusilli and ravioli prepared in classic “mamma-style”.
Your meal will be accompanied by local wines and stunning views over the Bay of Positano, with Capri visible on the horizon. If time allows, you may also enjoy a short stroll through the picturesque alleys of Positano before returning to your destination along the scenic coastal road.

Upon request and subject to availability, the hike can be organized with an expert local hiking guide, who will accompany you along the entire length of the Path of the Gods, sharing insights about nature, history and local traditions.
Seasonality and Practical Information
- Tour availability: April to early November
- Winter closure: The trail may be closed due to rain, ice or frost
- Suggested clothing: Hiking or sneaker shoes, sunscreen and plenty of water
If severe weather conditions occur on your reserved day and the trail is closed for safety reasons, the experience will be converted into a scenic driving tour or another suitable activity based on your preferences.
